‘Fighting Temeraire’ is a rose of very different character to most English Roses making a beautiful and very useful addition. Blooms open apricot with a lovely yellow glow to the centre and then age to hints of blush lemon with shades of soft pink and cream. Perhaps these colours hint at the sunsets created wonderfully by artist JMW Turner*.
“Fighting Temeraire” is not as full as the normal Austin flower but they still have profuse clusters. Each bloom can be 4-5 inches across and the scent is a lovely fruit with a citrus overtone.
New shoots are a lovely shining red maturing to a matt green. “Fighting Temeraire” as a free standing bush can get to 5 by 5 feet or could be trained to be an 8 foot climber. Limited numbers so please order early.
